Intended use:This immunoassay kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Kim-1 concentrations in urine and other biological fluids.
Introduction:Kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) is a type 1 transmembrane protein that is not detectable in normal kidney tissue but is expressed at high levels in rodent kidneys with dedifferentiated proximal tubule epithelial cells after ischemic or toxic injury.
Test principle:The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Kim-1.The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm 2 nm. The concentration of Kim-1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
