Intended use;This immunoassay kit allows for the specific measurement of Rat Intact-parathyroid hormone (I-PTH) concentrations in cell culture supernates, serum , plasma and other biological fluids.
Introduction:Parathyroid hormone (iPTH intact parathyroid hormone) is an 84 amino acid polypeptide produced by the parathyroid gland with its biological activity residing in the N-terminal region of the peptide. PTH plays an important role in maintaining the concentration of ionized calcium within the limits needed to achieve normal metabolic functions.
Test principle:This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for I-PTH has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any I-PTH present is bound by the immobilized antibody. An biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody specific for I-PTH and avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells and incubated, respectively.
