Product name:Pronase

Specification:250mg
Description:
Pronase is a commercially available mixture of proteinases isolated from the extracellular fluid of Streptomyces griseus. Activity extends to both denatured and native proteins leading to complete or nearly complete digestion into individual amino acids.
Pronase dissolves and removes gastric mucus by cutting the peptide bonds of mucin, the main component of gastric mucus.
1. Reduce the viscosity of mucin (in vitro)
In the pH range of 7.0 ~ 10.0, Pronase has the effect of reducing the viscosity of gelatin and mucin. Compared with other proteolytic enzymes, the effect of reducing mucin in gastric mucus is the strongest.
2. Study on dissolution and removal of gastric mucus in dogs (in vivo)
The results of gastric endoscopy in dogs showed that the amount of mucus attached to the gastric mucosal surface and the clarity of gastric mucosal images were positively correlated with the amount of Pronase (0, 5000, 20,000 units/unit). When the dosage is 20,000 units/unit, there is no adhesion of mucus in the whole stomach, the image of gastric mucosa is clear, and it is easy to identify the fine conditions of the mucosal surface.
3. Reduce the viscosity of human gastric mucus (in vitro)
100 and 300 units /ml of Pronase reduced gastric mucus viscosity by 43.1% and 68.3%, respectively.
