Description:
Potassium sorbate is the potassium salt of sorbic acid. Its primary use is as a food preservative (E number 202).Potassium sorbate is effective in a variety of applications including food, wine, and personal care.
Potassium sorbate is a white or white-like flake or granular crystal or crystalline powder. It is soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol.
(1) by taking about 0.1g of Potassium sorbate, adding 10ml water to dissolve it, adding 1ml acetone, adding dilute hydrochloric acid to make it acidic, adding 2 drops of bromine test solution, and shaking well, the bromine test solution can be faded.
(2) Potassium sorbate was taken and the solution containing 0.2mg per 1ml was prepared by adding water, and the solution containing 2 mug per 1ml was prepared by adding 0.1mol/L hydrochloric acid solution with the appropriate amount, and then determined by uv-visible spectrophotometry with the maximum absorption at the wavelength of 264nm.
When 1.0g of Potassium sorbate is taken, 20ml of water is added to dissolve it, and 2 drops of phenolphthalein indicator solution are added. If the Potassium is light red, 0.25ml of hydrochloric acid titration solution (0.1mol/L) is added, the light red color should disappear. If colorless, add sodium hydroxide titration solution (0.1mol/L) 0.25ml, should be light red.
