Description:Mordant Black 17 is purple Black powder, soluble in water, red in color, and soluble in fibrin (ethylene glycol ether). Slightly soluble in ethanol and acetone, insoluble in other organic solvents. It is blue in concentrated sulfuric acid and produces linear reddish-brown precipitation after dilution.
