Description:Glyoxalbis(2-hydroxyanil) is white or milky crystalline powder, melting point 204℃ (slightly decomposed). Soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, chloroform, pyridine and dimethylformamide, slightly soluble in water.
Glyoxalbis(2-hydroxyanil) is formed by the reaction of o-aminophenol and Glyoxalbis. The o-aminophenol was dissolved in water, the insurance powder was added and filtered at 80℃. After cooling, the precipitate was filtered out, washed with water, recrystallized with methanol, and the product was obtained by vacuum drying.
Glyoxalbis(2-hydroxyanil) is used as an indicator of complexation. Used for the determination of calcium, cadmium, aluminum and uranium. Photometric determination of calcium, erbium, indium, scandium, ruthenium and yttrium.
