Product name:Fluorescein disodium salt
CAS:518-47-8
Molecular Formula:C20H10Na2O5
Formula Weight:376.27
Description:As a diagnostic drug of Fluorescein disodium salt, Fluorescein disodium salt cannot stain the normal corneal epithelium, but can stain the damaged corneal epithelium green, so as to show corneal damage, ulcer and other lesions. When concentrated sulfuric acid shows a yellow color with faint fluorescence, dilute it to yellow precipitation, and its aqueous solution plus sodium hydroxide becomes a dark solution with dark green fluorescence.
The Fluorescein disodium salt is generally obtained from the hot condensation of resorcinol and phthalic anhydride to become a salt, which contains a lot of impurities, mainly including unreacted resorcinol, phenolphthalein and maladine yellow.
