Clindamycin hydrochloride is quite suitable to be used as a semi-synthetic antibiotic, characterized by its extensive antibacterial spectrum and strong antibacterial activity, and its obvious antibacterial activity to gram-positive bacteria, so it can effectively kill staphylococcus, anaerobic bacteria, pneumococci and streptococcus. Pneumocystis, toxoplasma, plasmodium falciparum and other pathogenic parasites have active effects, and adverse reactions are small. Clindamycin hydrochloride, clindamycin phosphate and clindamycin palmitate are currently used in clinical products, among which clindamycin phosphate and clindamycin palmitate have no antibacterial activity, and play an antibacterial and anti-parasite role after metabolizing clindamycin in vivo.
Clindamycin hydrochloride is quite suitable for lincomycin; its antibacterial spectrum is more extensive than lincomycin, and its antibacterial activity is 4-8 times higher than lincomycin. It has antibacterial activity to aerobic bacteria, staphylococcus and streptococcus of gram positive, and also has antibacterial activity to mycoplasma, chlamydia and a variety of anaerobic bacteria.
