Description:Chloroacetamide is a white crystal, soluble in 10 times water and 10 times anhydrous ethanol, but slightly soluble in ethyl ether.
Chloroacetamide is a reaction of ethyl chloroacetate with ammonia. First, ethyl chloroacetate was cooled to below 10℃, then ammonia water (relative density 0.9) was slowly added in the stirring, and white crystals were immediately precipitated. After adding ammonia water, the mixture continued to be stirred for 1h to filter out the crystals, and then ammonia water was washed to remove ammonium chloride, which was the crude product as far as possible, and then ethanol recrystallized to obtain the finished product.
Chloroacetamide is used for organic synthesis, pharmaceutical intermediates and synthesis of chloroacetonitrile, sulfame3-methoxypyrazine, sulfamemethylpyrazine and other organic compounds.
