Albumin

Product name:Albumin
CAS:70024-90-7
Specification:500MG
Description:
Albumin (Latin: albus, white) refers generally to any protein that is water soluble, which is moderately soluble in concentrated salt solutions, and experiences heat coagulation (protein denaturation). Substances containing albumin, such as egg white, are called albuminoids.
A number of serum transport proteins are known to be evolutionarily related, including serum albumin, alpha-fetoprotein, vitamin D-binding protein and afamin.
Albumin is the most important protein in human plasma, which maintains nutrition and osmotic pressure. The concentration reached 38~48g/L, accounting for about 50% of the total plasma protein. The liver produces about 12 grams to 20 grams of albumin per day. The mature albumin is a single polypeptide chain containing 585 amino acid residues. The concentration of globulin was 15~30g/L. Albumin/globulin (A/G) is clinically important. The normal value of A/G is 1.5 to 2.5:1. An increase in A/G may be due to an increase in albumin caused by overnutrition disease, or A deficiency of immunoglobulin (antibodies). The decrease of A/G may be due to the decrease of albumin: (1) decreased synthesis ability, (2) increased exudation of blood vessels, renal stiffness, protein-exudative gastrointestinal inflammation, cirrhosis, burns, malignant tumors, etc. Or because of the increase of globulin: (1) infectious diseases caused by the increase of antibodies, (2) bone marrow tumor caused by the increase of abnormal protein. The decrease of serum albumin and A/G has important clinical significance to reflect the degree of liver function in cirrhosis.
