Description:8-amino -1-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid monosodium salt monohydrates are all hydrophilic crystalline powders. Soluble in water, ethanol, ether and soda ash and caustic soda alkaline solution.
8-amino -1-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid monosodium salt monohydrates are prepared from naphthalene through the following steps :(1) sulfonation of naphthalene to 1,3, 6-naphthalene sulfonic acid; (2) 1,3, 6-naphthalene trisulfonic acid was nitrated to produce 1-nitro-3,6, 8-naphthalene trisulfonic acid, and the nitrification mixture was stripped of nitrogen dioxide; (3) the nitrifying mixture is neutralized with ammonia; (4) the neutralization product nitronaphthalene triammonium trisulfonate was reduced, and T acid was separated from the reduction acidification product by sulfuric acid and salt. (5) convert T acid into sodium salt, and obtain H acid monosodium salt by alkali fusion and acid evolution: there are many steps to prepare H acid monosodium salt from naphthalene, and the total yield is generally 46-50%. Industrial products are light gray to gray paste, H acid monosodium salt content of 42%. The content of H - acid monosodium salt in powder was more than 83.5% (GB-1648-84).
8-amino -1-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid monosodium salt monohydrates are used as indicators for determination of halogenates by mercury assay and azo dyes.
