Description:2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacid is white crystal. Melting point 138℃, boiling point 160℃(53Pa). Soluble in ethanol, acetone, ether and benzene and other organic solvents, insoluble in water.
The 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacid can be obtained with phenol as raw material either condensation with chloroacetic acid first and then chlorination, or condensation with chloroacetic acid first and then chlorination. (1) condensation followed by chlorination. Phenol was placed in the reactor, heated and melted, and 2.2 times (molar ratio) of sodium hydroxide and 1.2 times (molar ratio) of deschloroacetic acid were successively put into the reactor, and the reaction was conducted at 100-110℃ for 30min. After the reactants are cooled and neutralized with hydrochloric acid, phenoxyacetic acid can be separated out with a yield of more than 82%.
The chlorination product was 2, 4-difluorophenoxyacetic acid with a yield of 89%.
(2) chlorination before condensation process. The molten phenol was placed in a chlorinator and chlorinated for about 8-9h at 45-65℃. The chlorination reaction ended when the relative density of the reaction material reached 1.406 (40℃). Reactants add 30% sodium hydroxide solution while hot. When heated to boiling, add sodium chloroacetate solution and reflux for 4-5h. After cooling, neutralize with 30% hydrochloric acid to ph1-3. While hot, extract with benzene and separate organic layers. White crystals were precipitated out after cooling and obtained 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacid through extraction and drying.
