Which diseases are treated with sulfadiazine sodium

Sodium sulfadiazine is mainly used in the treatment of meningitis caused by sensitive Neisseria meningitidis. It can also be used for treatment:

1. Acute bronchitis and mild pneumonia caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae and other streptococci which are sensitive to them.

2. Nocardiosis asteroides.

3. Auxiliary medication for chloroquine-resistant falciparum malaria.

4. Treatment of Toxoplasmosis Caused by Toxoplasma gondii in Rats by Combination with Ethanopyrimidine.
